There are a lot of burgers to be had in Thonglor (Iron Fairies, Audrey’s, Bangkok Burger Company, The Garret) so we were very excited to learn that a new burger joint opened in Ekamai earlier this year.
Sure enough, we were not disappointed. Located in Ekamai Shopping Mall (corner of Ekamai soi 10, opposite Health Land), you can see the corner restaurant if you drive into Ekamai soi 10 enough times. The restaurant has been renovated into the kind of place you can take a romantic date or your family to. Casual but still classy, the ambience is relaxed and welcoming, ready for you to devour the good eats.
We started off with appetizers: yummy honey and chilli chicken wings, lamb salad and one of the best ribs we’ve ever had. One rib was equivalent to one (woman’s) arm length, and the juicy-fall-off-the-bone meat was heavenly delicious – for 300 baht, we highly recommend the ribs. But don’t fill yourselves yet. Wait for it!
We tried the Factory Burger (290 baht), the Red Devil Burger (300 baht) and the BBQ sauce Burger and we’ve gotta say, even though the Factory Burger is a classic burger with excellent Aussie patty and bacon, if you are a fan of spice, you’ve gotta try the Red Devil burger! Taste the difference – a glorified sloppy Joe’s but with a Thailand kick to it. Be prepared to be messy but extremely satisfied.
Cocktails start from 160 baht (try their mojitos!), and imported beer (think Bavaria) and French and Aussie wines are available. What started off with 4 friends opening a restaurant has become a neighborhood success. Staff are tentative and the second time we went (yes their burgers were that good), the bartenders were really accommodating and knowledgeable on their alcoholic drinks.
With Khun Nat as the friendly co-owner and Khun Nick as the serious cook, you definitely can’t go wrong with Burger Factory as your go-to burger joint in Thonglor-Ekamai.
